Opening Prayer: Almighty God, hear my prayer as I open my heart to You and invite Your presence to come and shape me today. Amen.

Read: 2 Samuel 7:18-29

Reflect: Have you ever prayed a prayer like David’s? Can you remember a time when the Lord has blessed you so much that you were asking, “Who am I that you have brought me so far?”? How can we live in such a way that the Lord’s blessing on us makes others stand up and take notice of God’s goodness?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are you weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our Refuge!
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do they friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee;
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Closing Prayer: Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love. (Ephesians 6:23-24)
