Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You offer the only true solution to the real problems we face in this life. Help me to rely on Your solution, and to show Your solution to the world around me. Amen.

Read: 1 Samuel 15:1-31
Reflect: Why wasn’t Saul’s repentance enough for Samuel and God? What would it have taken for Saul to remain king of Israel? Do we ever offer partial obedience instead of complete obedience?

Prayer: for the church, for others, and for myself

Hymn: “O Worship the King”
O worship the King, all glorious above,
And gratefully sin His wonderful love;
Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days
Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

O tell of His might, and sing of His grace,
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunder clouds form,
And dark is His path on the wings of the storm.

Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breaths in the air; it shines in the light.
It streams from the hills; it descends to the plain,
And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
In Thee to we trust, nor find Thee to fail.
Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end!
Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

Closing Prayer: So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
