Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You have chosen me, made me holy, and sent me to do Your work in my world. Help me to continue to live in Your presence, by the power of Christ, in whose name I pray, Amen.

Read: John 3:1-17

Reflect: What is Nicodemus’ major concern? What is Jesus’ solution to the problems that Nicodemus brings him? How do you experience Jesus’ promises to Nicodemus?

Prayer: for the church, for others, and for myself

Hymn: “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ, my God.
All the fain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See, from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did ever such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were an offering far too small.
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all!

Closing Prayer: To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy-to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
