Opening Prayer: Almighty God, Your son Jesus is my Savior and King. Help me to honor and worship Him with all that I am today. Amen.

Read: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-8

Reflect: What do you think must have happened when Paul visited Thessalonica, for Paul to say that his visit wasn’t a failure (you can read about it in Acts 17)? Why is Paul so gentle and kind with the Thessalonians? How does this verse remind you of the way we ought to treat fellow believers, even when we are embarrassed in their presence?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “As with Gladness Men of Old”
As with gladness men of old
Did the guiding light behold,
As with joy they hailed its light-
Leading onward, beaming bright,
So, most gracious Lord, may we
Evermore be led to Thee.

As with joyous steps they sped
To that lowly infant bed,
There to bend the knee before
Him who heaven and earth adore,
So may we with willing feet
Ever seek Thy mercy seat.

As they offered gifs most rare
In that dwelling rude and bare,
So may we with holy joy,
Pure, and free from sin’s alloy,
All our costliest treasures bring,
Christ, to Thee, our heavenly King.

Holy Jesus, every day
Keep us in the narrow way;
And, when earthly things are past,
Bring our ransomed souls at last
Where they need no star to guide,
Where no clouts Thy glory hide.

Closing Prayer: To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 25 NASB)
