Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You send Your Son to bring me into Your family. May I accept the great gift that you’ve given me through Jesus, in whose name I pray, Amen.
Read: Luke 15:11-32
Reflect: This is our final week in the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Our focus will be on the feast the father holds for his return son. What does this parable teach us about the Lord’s joy and celebration?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.
Hymn: “Sing Hallelujah”
There has not failed one word of all His promise;
All He has spoken He has done, just as He said.
Stand on His Word, secure, unchanged for ever;
And sing hallelujah! faithful God, our Father!
Whirlwinds of change are blowing ‘cross the nations;
Storms of confusion blast and buffet all mankind.
Stands Christ our King, His “peace, be still” commanding;
And now, hallelujah! I have peace unending!
When in the fi’ry furnace of affliction
Hell’s power would cast you, or some weakness lay you low,
Stand on His Word: “I am the Lord, your Healer.”
And sing, hallelujah! by His stripes He heals me!
Children of light, the darkness fast is gathering.
Earth’s blackest midnight comes; its last travail begins.
Stand in the light- God’s Word outshines the shadows;
And sing hallelujah! we’ve a bright tomorrow!
Closing Prayer: I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in your from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. (Psalm 17:6-8)
