Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You welcome me into Your presence because You love me. Help me to enjoy Your presence simply because I love You. Amen
Read: Psalm 119:1-8
Reflect: How are we to live in relationship to the Law of God? What are the benefits of obeying God’s Law? How do we reconcile this picture of obedience from the Psalms with the picture of obedience we see in the Parable of the Prodigal son?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.
Hymn: “Cleanse Me”
Search me, O God, and know my heart today.
Try me, O savior; know my thoughts, I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free.
I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin.
Fulfill Thy Word, and make me pure within.
Fill me with fire, where once I burned with shame.
Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.
Lord, tame my life and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self, and pride.
I now surrender; Lord, in me abide.
O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee.
Send a revival-start the work in me.
Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need.
For blessing now, O Lord, I humbly plead.
Closing Prayer: Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21)
