Opening Prayer: Almighty God, search me so I may know sense the motives of my own heart today. Help me to love You for the joy of relationship with you. Amen.
Read: Luke 15:11-32
Reflect: This Sunday we will be looking more closely at the refusal of the older brother to come into the party for his sibling. As you read the parable take special note of the way the older brother treats both his father and his brother. How do long-time Christians avoid becoming like the older brother in the story when we relate to non-believers?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.
Hymn: “This is Thy Will, I Know”
This is Thy will, I know-
That I should holy be,
Should let my sins this moment go,
This moment turn to Thee.
O might I now embrace
Thy all sufficient power,
And never more to sin give place,
And never grieve Thee more!
Closing Prayer:
Hallowed be thy name, not mine,
Thy kingdom come, not mine,
Thy will be done, not mine.
