Opening Prayer: Almighty God, thank you for the grace You have given me to be a unifying member of the Body of Christ. May I live worthily of the holy calling You have placed on my life.

Read: Hebrews 12:1-13

Reflect: What joy was set before Jesus that he was willing to endure the cross? What types of discipline have you been through? How has the Lord’s discipline helped you to mature?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “Rise Up, O Church of God”
Rise up, O Church of God!
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
To serve the King of Kings.

Rise up, O Church of God!
From vain ambitions turn.
Christ rose triumphant that your hearts
With nobler zeal might burn.

Rise up, O Church of God!
His kingdom’s task embrace.
Redress sin’s cruel consequence;
Give justice larger place.

Lift high the cross of Christ!
Tread where His feet have trod.
As followers of the Son of Man,
Rise up, O Church of God!

Closing Prayer: Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
