Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You have included me in Your plan from the beginning. Please now let me live into the great plan you have for me that I may bless You with my life. Amen.
Read: Isaiah 50:4-9
Reflect: This passage, written several hundred years before Jesus’ ministry, sounds as if it is written from Jesus’ perspective. What elements in this passage sound like they are coming from Jesus? Why do you think God had such a plan for Jesus? How does Jesus’ living into this plan make you feel about Jesus?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.
Hymn: “Jesus Saves!”
We have heard the joyful sound:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Spread the tidings all around:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to every land;
Climb the steeps and cross the waves.
Onward! ‘tis our Lord’s command.
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing above the battle strife:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
By His death and endless life,
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing it softly through the gloom,
When the heart for mercy craves;
Sing in triumph over the tomb:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Give the winds a mighty voice:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Let the nations now rejoice:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout salvation full and free,
Highest hills and deepest caves.
This our song of victory:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Closing Prayer: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing.
