Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You have called me to maturity. Help me to receive the gift of Your Holy Spirit which will allow me to grow into the adult Christian You have called me to be. Amen.

Read: John 21:15-17

 Reflect: Does Jesus only ask the question, “Do you love me?” three times to Peter because it matches the number of denials, or is the repetition important in its own right? Do you think Peter’s response to the third question is frustration, anger, resignation, or something else? What do you think Jesus’ tone was, was his hope to convict, or restore, or to discern if Peter was really resolute in his love? How would Jesus ask you this question?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “O How He Loves You and Me”
O how He loves you and me!
O how He loves you and me!
He gave His life; what more could He give?
O how He loves you;
O how He loves me;
O how He loves you and me!

Jesus to Calvary did go,
His love for sinners to who.
What He did there brought hope from despair.
O how He loves you;
O how He loves me;
O how He loves you and me!

Closing Prayer: May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. 2 Thessalonians 3:5
