Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You have been with me on every step of my journey. Please help me to surrender every part of my life to you, so there is nowhere in my life that you are not. Amen.
Read: Matthew 9:1-8
Reflect: We believe that by virtue of Jesus’ divine nature he was able to know the thoughts of people. What do you think the religious teachers thought when Jesus confronted their thoughts about Jesus? What thoughts would Jesus confront in you? Is there a way to rid ourselves of the thoughts Jesus would confront?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.
Hymn: “Cleanse Me”
Search me, O God, and know my heart today.
Try me, O Savior; know my thoughts, I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free.
I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin.
Fulfill Thy Word, and make me pure within.
Fill me with fire, where once I burned with shame.
Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.
Lord, take my life and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self, and pride.
I now surrender; Lord, in me abide.
O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee.
Send a revival – start the work in me.
Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need.
For blessing now, O Lord, I humbly plead.
Closing Prayer: “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!…For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen” (Romans 11:33, 36 NIV)
