Opening Prayer: Almighty God, please make me faithful to You alone, so I can be as useful to Your Kingdom as possible in this world. Amen.

Read: Exodus 3:1-22

Reflect: What is Moses’ initial response to God’s call? Why do you think the Lord was willing to answer questions of a worried Moses? Does God make similar concessions for us, and answer our questions? How should we respond if we don’t have all the answers to our questions?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “A Charge to Keep I Have”
A charge to keep I have,
A God to glorify;
A never-dying soul to save,
And fit it for the sky.

To serve the present age,
My calling to fulfill;
O my it all my powers engage
To do my Master’s will!

Arm me with jealous care,
As in Thy sight to live;
And O Thy servant, Lord, prepare
A strict account to give!

Help me to watch and pray,
And on Thyself rely,
Assured if I my trust betray
I shall forever die.

Closing Prayer: Lord, I am no longer my own, but Yours. Put me to what You will, rank me with whom You will. Let me be employed by You or laid aside for You, exalted for You or brought low by You. Let me have all things, let me have nothing, I freely and heartily yield all things to Your pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, You are mine and I am Yours. So be it, Amen. (A prayer of John Wesley)
