Opening Prayer: Almighty God, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, so I may be pure and acceptable in Your eyes. Amen.

Read: James 2
Reflect:
Why do you think impartiality is a natural outcome of the Gospel in a person’s life? How does James want Christians to balance faith and works? Does James differ from other biblical authors, or Philip Yancey?

Hymn: “Holy Spirit, Light Divine”
Holy Spirit, Light divine,
Shine upon this heart of mine.
Chase the shades of night away;
Turn my darkness into day.

Holy Spirit, Power divine,
Cleanse this guilty heart of mine.
Long hath sin without control
Held dominion over my soul.

Holy Spirit, Joy divine,
Cheer this saddened heart of mine.
Bid my many woes depart;
Heal my wounded, bleeding heart.

Holy Spirit, all divine,
Dwell within this heart of mine.
Cast down every idol throne;
Reign supreme, and reign alone.

Closing Prayer: May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. (2 Thessalonians 3:5)
