Opening Prayer: Almighty God, keep working in my life so I can know the transforming power of Your Son’s victory over sin. Prepare me this week to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Amen.
Read: John 17:1-8
Reflect: In what ways did Jesus show people His Father, so they could glorify God through Jesus? How did Jesus pass along the word God had given him to the disciples? What will the disciples do with the word Jesus had given to them?
Prayer: for the church, for others, and for myself
Hymn: “My Jesus, I Love Thee”
My Jesus, I love Thee; I know Thou art mine.
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou.
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.
I love Thee because Thou hast first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow.
If ever I love Thee, My Jesus, ‘tis now.
I love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath,
And say when the death-dew lies cold on my brow,
“If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.”
In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright.
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow,
“If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.”
Closing Prayer: Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!…To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!…Amen (Rev. 5:12-14)
