Opening Prayer: Almighty God, grant me the wisdom and strength to be in Your presence this week, as I face the challenges and opportunities that come my way. Amen.

Read: Galatians 1:1-2:10
Reflect: From the beginning of this letter, Paul interacts with his readers in a much different way than other letters (compare Philippians 1:3 to Galatians 1:6 for example). What is Paul’s main complaint about the Galatians? How does Paul defend himself to the Galatians?

Prayer: for the church, for others, and for myself

Hymn: “My Jesus, I Love Thee”
My Jesus, I love Thee; I know Thou art mine.
For thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou.
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.

I love Thee because Thou hast first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow.
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.

I will love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath,
And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,
“If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.”

In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright.
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow,
“If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.”

Closing Prayer: Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Amen.
