Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You grant me grace to overcome evil with good. Help me to live out that grace so that the world will see it and honor You. Amen.
Read: Matthew 15:1-20
Reflect: How did Jesus understand human purity? What was the evidence of a pure (or clean) person? What caused a person to be unclean? Why did the Pharisees confront Jesus on issues of purity, especially the purity of his disciples?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.
Hymn: “Ye Servants of God”
Ye servants of God, you Master proclaim,
And publish abroad His wonderful name.
The name all victorious of Jesus extol;
His kingdom is glorious and rules over all.
God ruleth on high, almighty to save.
And still His is nigh; His presence we have.
The great congregation His triumph shall sing,
Ascribing salvation to Jesus our King.
“Salvation to God, who sits on the throne!”
Let all cry aloud and honor the Son.
The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim,
Fall down on their faces, and worship the Lamb.
Then let us adore and give Him His right:
All glory and power, all wisdom and might,
All honor and blessing with angels above,
And thanks never ceasing, and infinite love.
Closing Prayer: Peace to you brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love. Ephesians 6:23-24

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You grant me grace to overcome evil with good. Help me to live out that grace so that the world will see it and honor You. Amen.
Read: John 4:1-42
Reflect: How does Jesus demonstrate his tenderness to the Samaritan woman? What does Jesus mean when he talks about living water? What does Jesus refer to as the food his disciples don’t know about? How do these food metaphors inform our understanding of Jesus’ mission?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You grant me grace to overcome evil with good. Help me to live out that grace so that the world will see it and honor You. Amen.
Read: Mark 5:21-34
Reflect: Why does Jesus demand to know who touched him, if it was not to reprimand her for taking his power? What does this miracle show about Jesus’ power to heal people? How was Jesus’ power displayed and given to people throughout his ministry?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You grant me grace to overcome evil with good. Help me to live out that grace so that the world will see it and honor You. Amen.
Read: Matthew 9:27-34
Reflect: Why does Jesus ask the blind men if they believe he can heal them? What is the significance of the people saying “Never was anything like this seen in Israel”? Why do the Pharisees doubt that Jesus’ gift of healing are from the Lord? What would have convinced the Pharisees that Jesus was doing God’s work?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You grant me grace to overcome evil with good. Help me to live out that grace so that the world will see it and honor You. Amen.
Read: Matthew 8:1-13
Reflect: Why do you think Jesus told the leper not to tell anyone about his miraculous healing? How was the Centurion’s faith displayed? What makes the Centurion’s faith so surprising or note worthy to Jesus? What was unique about the Centurion’s request of Jesus?
Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.
