Opening Prayer: Almighty God, help me to better understand your love for me through my study of your Word this week. Amen

Read: Matthew 22:1-14
Reflect: Why do you think the guests that were first invited did not come to the banquet? Who do you think the original guests represent? Why do you think it mattered if the guests were wearing wedding clothes?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “In Heavenly Love Abiding”
In heavenly love abiding,
No change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding,
For nothing changes here.
The storm may roar without me,
My heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me,
And can I be dismayed?

Wherever He may guide me,
No want shall turn me back;
My shepherd is beside me,
And nothing can I lack.
His wisdom ever walketh;
His sight is never dim.
He knows the way He taketh,
And I will walk with Him.

Green pastures are before me
Which yet I have not seen.
Bright skies will soon be o’er me,
Where darkest clouds have been.
My hope I cannot measure;
My path to life is free.
My Savior has my treasure,
And He will walk with me.

Closing Prayer: “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” Amen. (2 Cor. 13:14)

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, may I fall more in love with You as I study Your Word in this time. Amen.

Read: Acts 5:1-11
Reflect:
What is the purpose of this story? Why does God strike Ananias and Sapphira dead? Would it have been sinful of them to bring part of the proceeds from the sale of their land, if they were honest about it? Do you think God wanted all that they had, regardless of their honesty?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “O For a Faith That Will Not Shrink”
O for a faith that will not shrink,
Though pressed by every foe,
That will not tremble on the brink
Of any earthly woe!

That will not murmur nor complain
Beneath the chastening rod
But, in the hour of grief or pain,
Will lean upon its God.

A faith that shines more bright and clear
When tempests rage without;
That when in danger knows no fear,
In darkness feels no doubt.

Lord, give us such a faith as this;
And then, whatever may come,
We’ll taste, even here, the hallowed bliss
Of an eternal home.

Closing Prayer: Almighty God, while my time of quiet in your presence is over, let me not leave Your presence. Continue to speak to me as I go through this day, that I may honor you through my day. Amen.

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, may I fall more in love with You as I study Your Word in this time. Amen.

Read: Revelation 22:7-17
Reflect:
What are Jesus’ instructions to his followers? Why does Jesus spend time talking about those on the outside? How does the water of life relate to Jesus’ words to those on the inside, and the outside?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “O For a Faith That Will Not Shrink”

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, may I fall more in love with You as I study Your Word in this time. Amen.

Read: Psalm 111
Reflect:
List the reasons the Psalmist gives for his praise of the Lord. How have you seen those reasons to praise God in your life?

Prayer: for the church, for others, for myself.

Hymn: “O For a Faith That Will Not Shrink”
