Opening Prayer: Almighty God, cleanse me as I experience the joy of being in Your transforming presence today. Amen.
Read: Genesis 9:8-17 and Psalm 25:1-10
I will be preaching from these passages on Sunday. I hope you will read them and come prepared to encounter the Living God in our worship together.
Prayer: for the church, for others, and for myself
Hymn: “O for a Heart to Praise My God”
O for a heart to praise my God,
A heart from sin set free,
A heart that always feels Thy blood
So freely shed for me.
A heart resigned, submissive, meek
My great Redeemer’s throne,
Where only Christ is heard to speak,
Where Jesus reigns alone.
O for a lowly, contrite heart,
Believing, true, and clean,
Which neither life nor death can part
From Him that dwells within.
A heart in every thought renewed
And full of love divine,
Perfect and right and pure and good-
A copy, Lord, of Thine.
Thy nature, gracious Lord, impart;
Come quickly from above;
Write Thy new name upon my heart,
Thy new, best name of Love.
Closing Prayer: Create in me a clean heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Amen.
