Opening Prayer: Almighty God, help me to know the joy of living in Your presence, so all that I do may be filled with Your Spirit. Amen.

Read: Ephesians 6:10-20
Reflect: Why do you think Paul uses the imagery of armor to talk about relationship with God? What piece of armor do you need most in your life? What piece of armor have you used the most?

Hymn: “Dear Lord and Father of Mankind”
Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
Forgive our foolish ways!
Reclothe us in our rightful minds;
In purer lives Thy service find;
In deeper reverence, praise.

In simple trust like theirs who heard,
Beside they Syrian sea,
The gracious calling of the Lord,
Let us, like them, without a word,
Rise up and follow Thee.

Drop Thy still dews of quietness
Till all our strivings cease.
Take from our souls the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Thy peace.

Breathe through all heats of our desire
They coolness and Thy balm.
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire,
O still small voice of calm!

Closing Prayer: Almighty God, thank you for meeting with me today. Allow me to know the peace of Your presence as I continue to walk with You. Amen.

Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
Forgive our foolish ways!
Reclothe us in our rightful minds;

Read: Philippians 3:1-16
Reflect: What does it mean to live to the standard to which you have attained? What more do you think Paul would have needed to do in order for him to say “I have attained it”? Do you think it is possible to reach the prize? How can you press on toward the goal today?

Read: Romans 7:13-25
Reflect: Does Paul make it sound like sin is limited to specific actions, or does he make sin sound like part of who he is? What would it look like to be set free from sin?
