Opening Prayer: Almighty God, You redeem the darkest days of our lives. You spread Your hope when we are hopeless, You bring purpose out of our worst days. Thank you for bringing joy through Your Son, in whose Name we pray, Amen.

Read: Genesis 41:37-42:38

Prayer: for the church, for others, and for myself

Hymn: “In Heavenly Love Abiding”
In heavenly love abiding,
No Change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding,
For nothing changes here.
The storm may roar without me,
My heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me,
And can I be dismayed?

Whenever He may guide me,
No want shall turn me back;
My Shepherd is beside me,
And nothing can I lack.
His wisdom ever waketh;
His sight is never dim.
He knows the way He taketh,
And I will walk with Him.

Green pastures are before me
Which yet I have not seen.
Bright skies will soon be over me,
Where darkest clouds have been.
My hope I cannot measure;
My path to life is free.
My savior has my treasure,
And He will walk with me.

Closing Prayer: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all this day. Amen.

Opening Prayer: Almighty God, I pray that my love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God. Amen.

Reflect: I will be preaching from this passage on Sunday, please pray that God will speak through my sermon.

Prayer: for the church, for others, and for myself

Hymn: “More Love to Thee”

More love to Thee, O Christ
More love to Thee!
Here Thou the prayer I make
On bended knee.
This is my earnest plea:
More love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee,
More love to Thee

One earthly joy I craved,
Sought peace and rest.
Now Thee alone I seek;
Give what is best.
This all my prayer shall be:
More love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee,
More love to Thee

Then shall my latest breath
Whisper Thy praise.
This be the parting cry
My heart shall raise;
This still my prayer shall be:
More love, O Christ to Thee;
More love to Thee,
More love to Thee

Closing Prayer: Almighty God, grant that I may go through this day loving others has You have given me the ability to love. In the name of Christ, Amen.

Reflect: What does Jesus say will allow the disciples to bear much fruit? Why is love so important for the followers of Jesus? How ought the church be known, according to this passage?
